This indicator has two f unctions:
Itcomesonwhenyouturnthe
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position. It is a reminder to check
the parking brake. Driving with
the parking brake not f ully
released can damage the brakes
and tires.
If you drive without releasing the
parking brake, a beeper will sound,
and you will also see a ‘‘RELEASE
PARKING BRAKE’’ message on
the multi-information display (see
page ).
This indicator comes on brief ly when
you turn the ignition switch to the
ON (II) position. It will then go of f if
you have inserted a properly coded
ignition key, on models with keyless
access system, if an appropriate
keyless access remote is used. If it is
not a properly coded key or keyless
access remote, the indicator will
blink, and the engine’s f uel system
will be disabled (see page ).
This indicator has two f unctions:
If it comes on when the engine is
running, the battery is not being
charged, and you will see a
‘‘CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM’’
message on the multi-inf ormation
display.
This indicator also comes on when
the battery needs to be replaced
along with a ‘‘REPLACE
BATTERY’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display. For more
inf ormation, see page . 1.

If it stays on after you have fully
released the parking brake while
the engine is running, or if it
comes on while driving, it can
indicate a problem in the brake
system. You will also see a ‘‘LOW
BRAKE FLUID’’ or ‘‘CHECK
BRAKE SYSTEM’’ message on
the multi-information display. For
more information, see page .This indicator normally comes on f or
a f ew seconds when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position.
If this indicator comes on at any
other time, there is a problem in the
ABS. If this happens, take the
vehicle to your dealer to have it
checked. With this indicator on, your
vehicle still has normal braking
ability but no anti-lock f unction. You
will also see a ‘‘CHECK ABS
SYSTEM’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display. For more
inf ormation, see page .

You can customize some vehicle
control settings. To change the
settings, the ignition switch must be
in the ON (II) position, and the
vehicle must be stopped with the
transmission in Park (automatic) or
with the parking brake set (manual). If you try to enter the customizing
mode while the vehicle is moving,
you will see a ‘‘MUST STOP AND
SHIFT TO PARK TO CHANGE
SETTINGS’’ (automatic) or ‘‘MUST
STOP AND SET PARK BRAKE
TO CHANGE SETTINGS’’
(manual) message and you cannot
change the settings.
You can customize some vehicle
control settings f or ‘‘DRIVER 1’’ and
‘‘DRIVER 2’’ separately.
To have the driver’s ID detected,
make sure the driver’s door is
unlocked with a corresponding
remote transmitter/
keyless access remote.
If you turn the ignition switch to the
ACCESSORY (I) or the LOCK (0)
position, move the shif t lever out of
Park (automatic) or release the
parking brake (manual), the display
will change to the normal screen.

is the equivalent of LOCK (0), ACCESSORY Mode
is the equivalent of ACCESSORY (I), and ON
Mode is the equivalent of ON (II). For more

If you see a ‘‘CHECK DRL
SYSTEM’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display, there is a
problem with the daytime running
light system. Take your vehicle to a
dealer to have it checked.
The headlights revert to normal
operation when you turn them on
with the switch. With the headlight switch of f or in
the position, the high beam
headlights and the high beam
indicator come on with reduced
brightness when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position and release the parking
brake. They remain on until you turn
the ignition switch of f , even if you
set the parking brake.
The lights will turn on again when
you unlock or open the driver’s door.
If you unlock the door, but do not
open it within 15 seconds, the lights
will go off. With the driver’s door
open, you will hear a lights on
reminder beeper.

Fail to press a memory button
within 5 seconds.
To cancel the storing procedure
af ter pressing the SET button, do
any of the f ollowing:
To select a memorized position, do

Each memory button stores only one
driving position. Storing a new
position erases the previous setting
stored in that button’s memory. If
you want to add a new position while
retaining the current one, use the
other memory button.
Make sure the parking brake is set
and the shif t lever is in Park
(automatic).
Press the desired memory button
(1 or 2) until you hear a beep, then
release the button.
Change the power mode out Turn the ignition switch out from
the ON (II) position. Readjust the outside mirror
position. Readjust the seat position.
Press the SET button again within

If desired, you can use the
adjustment switches to change the
positions of the seat or outside
mirrors af ter they are in their
memorized positions. If you change
the memorized position, the
indicator in the memory button will
go out. To keep this driving position
f or later use, you must store it in the
driving position memory.
To stop the system’s automatic
adjustment, do any of these actions:
Push any of the adjustment
switches f or the seat.
The system will move the seat and
outside mirrors to the memorized
positions. The indicator in the
selected memory button will f lash
during movement. When the
adjustments are complete, you will
hear two beeps, and the indicator will
remain on.
To change the ‘‘MEMORY
POSITION LINK’’ setting, see
. Press any button on the driver’s
door: SET, memory button 1 or 2.
If the parking brake is not set,
you must press and hold the
memory button until the
adjustment is complete. Adjust the outside mirrors.

You can start the engine in any
power mode.
To start the engine:Depress the brake pedal and press
the engine start/stop button. Move the shift lever to Park (P). Af ter you unlock and open the
driver’s door, you will see the ‘‘TO
START ENGINE:’’ message on the
multi-inf ormation display. The ‘‘TO
TURN ACCESSORY ON:’’ message
will be shown af ter three seconds.
The display switches between the
‘‘TO START ENGINE:’’ and ‘‘TO
TURN ACCESSORY ON:’’ messages
every three seconds.
Apply the parking brake.
The engine does not start unless
the clutch pedal is pressed.

To turn the vehicle off, make sure
the vehicle is completely stopped and
do the f ollowing.If the shif t lever is in any gear
other than neutral, depress the
clutch pedal, then press the engine
start/stop button.
The engine stops and the power
mode switches f rom ON to
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK).
Bef ore leaving the vehicle, make
sure it is of f . You can verif y if the
power is of f by checking the engine
start/stop button LED indicator. You can only place the vehicle in the
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK) mode if the
transmission is in Park. You will see
the ‘‘SHIFT TO PARK’’ message on
the multi-information display if you
press the engine start/stop button to
turn the vehicle of f with the shif t
lever in any other position except f or
P(Park).
If the shift lever is in neutral, press
the engine start/stop button.
Press the engine start/stop button
with your f oot on the brake pedal. Shif t to park (P). Make sure to press the brake pedal
or set the parking brake bef ore
